Mycotoxins, a major threat for farming of ducks. These mycotoxins are affecting the farming for decades. These are metabolites of fungi and are produced by many species of Aspergillus, Fusarium and Penicillium. Although varying in species it can cause reduction in feed intake, low weight gain, slow growth, low immunity and hatchability with an increased in mortality ratio, organ damage, low egg production. The major source of these mycotoxins are contaminated feed and water which when keep improperly or under damped area provide a suitable climate for the formation of fungi. These mycotoxins are metabolized in the alimentary canal, liver or kidney by which they get transferred to the meat and egg which lead to undesirable health effect of the humans. Also, during synthesis in the organ of animals or birds it also damages the organ and restrict the optimum functionality of the organ. The affect of the toxins depends upon the level of the contamination, time length of consumption of contaminated feed etc. There is no feed which is free from mycotoxins as there are more than 200 species of toxins known which nearly affect all kind of feed. In order to get rid out of the harmful effect of the toxins and improve the function of the organ we have to use toxin binder which binds the toxins. Protox is a well-known toxin binder which is used to bind the toxin. It contains MOS, Bacillus Subtilis, Benzoic acid, Citric Acid which selectively binds the toxins without affecting the nutritional value of the feed.
