Egg Pigment Colourant

In poultry farming of layers which is commercially farmed for their eggs. In several countries the color of the egg yolk is an important factor for the marketing of eggs as the consumers look for golden or pale-yellow color of yolk. The egg yolk pigmentation is a practical subject for egg production industry and it requires special pigmentation level and homogeneous distribution of color all over the egg to satisfy the demand. In laying process, the egg laying birds cannot synthesize the egg yolk pigment, egg yolk color as it depends upon the synthesis of fat-soluble pigment available in the feed. The availability of β-carotene in poultry feed is almost completely converted to vitamin A or is otherwise metabolized, oxycarotenoids (xanthophylls) in feed ingredients play a major role in egg yolk pigmentation. Lucanthin is one of the egg yolk pigmentation supplements which helps in enhancing the color of the egg yolk. It contains Astaxanthin, Enzymes and amino acids that improve the color of the egg yolk.
